John Netto, Green Bay Fishery Resources Office, updated the Green Bay yellow perch stock assessment model with fishery and survey data collected in 2005. 

Wisconsin DNR samples the commercial and recreational fisheries to assess the catch and composition of yellow perch harvested in the fishery.  They also conduct a trawl survey to provide a fishery independent index of abundance and data on year classes before they are recruited to the fishery. 

These data were summarized and a statistical catch at age model was fit to the updated data file.    Results indicated that adult mortality rates have remained low over the past few years, and the abundance of adult yellow perch is increasing in the bay.
