October 24-25, 12 students and an instructor from the Agricultural and Food Sciences Academy, Vadnais Heights, Minnesota, spent time with hatchery staff spawning brook trout, fin clipping, cleaning raceways and sample counting.

This charter school visits the hatchery every few years so this diverse group of students can see how things work in the “real world of work,” as their instructor put it.

During tours of the facility and grounds they were told of various Service careers and the education necessary to get into the Service thru various student programs.
