In keeping with the season, Kenai National Wildlife Refuge's second Home School Discovery Room was titled "Spooky Season" and was held at the Refuge's Environmental Education Center October 25 - 27, 2006.  Eighty-eight people participated in what heralded by all as both fun and educational.  Informational tables were prepared for multiple grades of students and a variety of topics.  Five different learning stations examined "spooky senses", "prickly plants", "amazing animals", "snakes and bats", and "spiders and insects."  Completing the learning workbooks took about an hour and participants were rewarded at the end with a spider pop!
