Workshop Focuses on Coordinating Carp Control Efforts in the United States
Midwest Region, October 6, 2006
Print Friendly Version

Carterville Fishery Resources Office (CFRO) participated in a multi-agency workshop on the biology and management of the common carp.  The purpose of the meeting was to review extant control strategies, discuss new approaches to carp control, and the need for regional or national coordination.

CFRO was asked to participate in the workshop, to discuss the national management and control plan for Asian carps, and to provide some perspectives from the Asian carp experience (i.e., coordination of the Asian Carp Working Group and the development of the national Asian carp management and control plan).
