The Prairie Wetlands Learning Center celebrated National Public Lands Day on September 30, as nearly 20 volunteers helped with invasive species removal, native seed collection, erosion control projects and programs.

The area Girl Scouts held a workshop, "Linking Girls with the Land" at the same time and made use of willow brush cut by the volunteers to make wreathes and trellises.More than 50 girls and 30 leaders from around the area participated in the program.

The North Dakota State University Wildlife Biology Club also participated in the event, with 11 students helping out. The group also participated in a wetland typing program and bird walk as a part of their overnight stay.
