On August 8, 2006, the Service's Green Bay Ecological Services Field Office hosted a presentation in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, on the Hine's Emerald Dragonfly - a  Door County Jewel.

Green Bay Field Office's Cathy Carnes, Dan Soluk, University of North Dakota, Bill Smith, Wisconsin DNR, and Mike Grimm, The Nature Conservancy, provided information on identification, life history, research, and conservation activities related to the dragonfly.

Maps of the proposed critical habitat for the dragonfly were also discussed and copies provided to interested parties.

Green Bay Field Supervisor Louise Clemency and Budget Officer Linda Sopp also assisted at the event.  Those participating on the field trip to the Ridges Sanctuary in Bailey's Harbor were rewarded with a close up view of the Hine's emerald dragonfly.
