Oklahoma Ecological Services Partners with State Wildlife Derpartment
Southwest Region, August 25, 2006
Print Friendly Version
The Oklahoma ES Staff and management team participated in the second annual Wildlife Expo, sponsored by the Oklahoma State Department of Wildlife Conservation. OKES, collocated with Refuges and Fisheries, provided a "hands-on" "skins and skulls" exhibit, showcasing native fauna from Oklahoma and other exotic species from around the world.  The display also provided educational information on endangered species of Oklahoma, and information on the various programs and services provided by the OKESFO.  The Wildlife Expo is the fruit of a coalition of conservation organizations, agencies and sponsors.  The Wildlife Expo celebrates the state's natural diversity and opportunities for the sporting enthusiast. From camping and outdoor skills to shooting sports and fishing, from bird watching to kayaking, Expo visitors have an opportunity to try their hands at three days of fun in the outdoors. More than 35,000 children and adults from across Oklahoma and neighboring states participated in this three day event.
