Jonathan Pyatskowit and Henry Quinlan, Ashland FRO, participated in a GIS workshop, at the Lake Superior Technical Meeting, August 1, 2006.  The purpose of the meeting was to familiarize people with Lake Superior GIS information that is being compiled by Christine Geddes, from the Institute for Fisheries Research, at the University of Michigan. 

The workshop objectives were to increase familiarity with spatial data on fisheries and habitat using ArcGIS software. 

The class was led through a number of exercises received CD’s with data and other workshop materials. These items should be great reference material and building blocks for using GIS in the office.
