Journal Entry   Back Matagorda Island Horned Lizard Survey Southwest Region, August 31, 2006 Print Friendly Version   In June and July, state and federal biologist and a dozen volunteers conducted horned lizard, Phrynosoma cornutum, surveys on Matagorda Island.  The objectives of these surveys were to collect baseline density and distribution data on horned lizards and to collect physical data needed to characterize horned lizard habitat requirements.  Blood samples were collected from several specimens and deposited within the frozen tissue collection at Texas State University.  All reptiles and amphibians encountered during these surveys were documented.       Contact Info: Martin Valdez, 505-248-6599, martin_valdez@fws.gov Send to: From: Notes: ..........................................................................................
