Regional Director Robyn Thorson recently dedicated the new Indiana State Fair Fishing Pond facility.  This facility was constructed, in part, with Sport Fish Restoration Funds. 

This facility provides an educational opportunity reaching the more than 700,000 State Fair attendees each year.  It provides positive exposure to Indiana aquatic resources management, aquatic education and highlights angling importance, such as the understanding of water resources, aquatic life forms, and sport fishing. 

The facility also exposes a large number of observers to the fun and importance of teaching children about the outdoors through fishing, and opportunities for inner city youth.

The facility is in conformance with Director Dale Hall's priorities which include  communicating and building partnership with state partners and expanding use of collaborative approaches to resource conservation and education.
