Level I Contaminant Surveys for two parcels, Parcels 7A and 10A of the Lost Mound Unit, have been completed.  No lingering contaminant issues were identified as a result of the survey.

Parcel 7A consists of approximately 198 acres of Mississippi River bottomlands with associated waterways and tree-covered land areas.  Parcel 10A consists of approximately 205 acres, which includes 41 buildings.  Besides the buildings, which are mainly storage igloos, there are more than a hundred acres of black oak savanna with some small wetlands.

A total of 403.96 acres are set to be transferred from the Department of the Army to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s Lost Mound Unit of the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge  - Savanna District.
