Interagency Coordination Meeting on Cooperative Endangered Species Conservation, July 2006"

On July 24, 2006, the New Mexico Ecological Services Field Office hosted an interagency coordination meeting to discuss endangered species issues in the state.  Attendees were the Forest Service Regional Office, New Mexico State Lands Office, Bureau of Land Management State and Field Offices, New Mexico Department of Game and Fish, and New Mexico Natural Heritage Program.  Discussion topics included:  candidate species assessments and information; the Aplomado falcon 10(j) rule; Gila trout reclassification rule; State Recovery Planning; and the schedule for 5-year reviews.  The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss and answer questions concerning biennial review of State-listed species, otter reintroduction efforts, and updates on the impact of fire on listed species.
