Print Friendly Version
The New Mexico Ecological Services Field Office (NMESFO) completed a final Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act Report on the Turley-Manzanares Acequia Rehabilitation Project, in San Juan County, New Mexico September 21, 2006.  The proposed action by the US Army Corps of Engineers is to rehabilitate the irrigation system including the existing diversion groin, inlet channel, heading structure and sluice, ditch, berm and installation of an elliptical reinforced concrete pipe. The NMESFO recommended actions to improve fish and wildlife habitat, including protection of listed species, actions to avoid impacts to aquatic habitats and wetlands, and actions to mitigate the loss of wetlands and aquatic habitats if the proposed action could not avoid impacts.
