TEXAS HORNED LIZARD SURVEY

In the month of June 2006, the Corpus Christi Ecological Services Field Office assisted refuge personnel from Aransas National Wildlife Refuge in conducting a presence/absence survey for Texas Horned Lizard (Phrynosoma cornutum)at Matagorda Island National Wildlife Refuge.  During this survey, five horned lizards were observed in addition to a ribbon snake (Thamnophis proximus), two coachwhips (Masticophis flagellum), and numerous racerunners (Cnemidorphorus sp.).
