Staff from the La Crosse Fish Health Center (LFHC) completed the annual fish health inspection at the Red Cliff Tribal Fish Hatchery June 21, 2006.

During the inspection, staff observed the hatchery facilities and collected tissue samples from the four lots of brook trout present at the hatchery.  The tissue samples will be screened for bacterial (Aeromonas salmonicida, Edwardsiella ictaluri, Renibacterium salmoninarum, Yersinia ruckeri), viral (infectious pancreatic necrosis virus, infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus, viral hemorrhagic septicemia virus), and parasitic (Myxobolus cerebralis) pathogens at the LFHC's laboratory facilities in Onalaska, WI.

Brook trout raised at the hatchery are stocked into streams on tribal lands.
