Journal Entry   Back FireWise in Tok Alaska Region, May 24, 2006 Print Friendly Version In cooperation with Alaska State Forestry-Tok and Tok Volunteer Fire Department, the Tetlin NWR hosted a FireWise workshop on Weds., May 24, 2006.  Over 20 local people attended the evening meeting/bar-b-que to learn what they could do to help make their homes as safe as possible from wildfire.  Free FireWise T-shirts were given to all residents who signed up for a home inspection.  The Fire Dept. held a fire extinguisher demo/practice.  FWS and AK State fire brochures and newsletters were circulated.
