Lorene Guffey, Wildland Urban Interface Coordinator from the Regional Office, and Richard Baker, Assistant Fire Management Officer from Wichita Mountains Refuge, visited Little River NWR on June 16, 2006.  A meeting was scheduled with local officials in the community to discuss the development and implementation of a Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) for the refuge.  The meeting allowed participants to share ideas and discuss fire issues facing the community.
