Chiricahua Leopard Frog Survey Workshop, Silver City, New Mexico
Southwest Region, May 26, 2006
Print Friendly Version
On May 25-26, 2006 the New Mexico Ecological Services Field Office, New Mexico Department of Game and Fish, Western New Mexico University, and a Private Contractor provided a Chiricahua Leopard Frog (listed as a Federal Endangered Species) Survey Workshop for individuals who could potentially be doing surveys for this species. Participation in the training was necessary to fulfill permitting requirements under section 10 of the Endangered Species Act.  The workshop was a success teaching students the history and biology of southwestern leopard frogs, visual identification of adult and larval leopard frogs, proper survey protocols, and data collection.
