Private Lands Agreement Executed to Restore Playa and Grassland Habitat on Private Lands in Eastern New Mexico
Southwest Region, May 7, 2006
Print Friendly Version
The Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program in New Mexico funded habitat restoration work on a private ranch in Mosqueros, Harding County, New Mexico.  The project includes reseeding 160 acres of a playa and upland buffers with a native seed mix, construction of fencing to facilitate livestock grazing rest and rotation, and water development.  These activities will reestablish a diverse plant composition and improve wildlife habitat especially for long-billed curlew (species of concern).
