Tetlin Refuge staff participated in a local community Health Fair at the Tok School on May 11, 2006.  Numerous agencies, organizations and groups shared everything from fire safety to family counseling.  The Refuge provided information and learning activities to all ages (infants through adults) on basic bear safety.  Over 200 children and adults learned "Don't try and run away from a bear" as the main Refuge message.  Staff distributed bear safety brochures and coloring books to participants. Participants examined a grizzly hide, skull, and claws to learn about bear biology in a hands-on approach.  Avian Influenza info sheets were also available for adults.
