Refuge staff assisted the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) in a statewide, Archery in the Schools competition shoot off on April 27, 2006 in Edmond, Oklahoma.  The day-long competition involved about 8 different schools, and included 210 students.  Staff assisted students on the shooting line, and acted as judges when scoring each round.  Students in classes from elementary up through middle school were involved in the competition.  The competition winners were awarded with medals for gold, silver, and bronze, as well as new arrows, bow cases and a new Genesis bow.
