New Mexico Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program Markets Conservation at a Wildlife Trails Workshop
Southwest Region, April 15, 2006
Print Friendly Version

The New Mexico Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program staff (New Mexico Ecological Services Field Office) made a presentation on funding availability from an array of Federal and State sources for private land restoration and provided a booth display for the Placitas Wildlife Trails Workshop held in Placitas, New Mexico on April 15, 2006.  The presentation along with the information booth provided an ideal opportunity to meet new private landowners, catch-up with current and former cooperators, and to market the Partners Program and the Private Stewardship Grant Program to conference attendees.  The conference was hosted by the two non-profit organizations, Las Placitas Association and Las Huertas Watershed Project.  The workshop was held to provide information on carnivore conservation by Dave Parsons of the Rewilding Institute, to share information about the Tijeras Canyon Safe Passage project by Kurt Menke of the Tijeras Canyon Safe Passage Coalition, and to introduce the research and planning of "Rewilding" North America by Dave Foreman of the Rewilding Institute.
