Tucson Suboffice promotes habitat conservation planning in Pinal County
Southwest Region, April 24, 2006
Print Friendly Version
Staff from the Tucson Suboffice met with Sandie Smith, County Supervisor for Pinal County, to promote habitat conservation planning in Pinal County, which is experiencing rapid growth.  Tucson staff were accompanied in the presentation by employees from Arizona Game and Fish Department and Pima County.  Supervisor Smith was particularly interested in how Pima County focused on improving their tax base, which aligned well with their open space conservation, as it makes most sense to concentrate development in areas of existing infrastructure.  Supervisor Smith will explore having us provide a presentation on habitat conservation planning to the entire Board of Supervisors.
