Jaguar Conservation Team Meetings and Strategy Development
Southwest Region, January 20, 2006
Print Friendly Version
Arizona Ecological Services attended Jaguar Conservation Team (JCT) meetings in November and December 2005 and January 2006.  These meetings dealt with completing some tasks as outlined in the existing strategy of the JCT, including forwarding habitat analyses to the JCT, and beginning development of a revised Jaguar Conservation Strategy for the JCT.  AZ ES, along with the Arizona Game and Fish Department and the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish, are cooperatively developing a revised strategy for coordination and management of the northern jaguar populations in Mexico and the United States.  Along with the existing cooperators, NGOs, and private citizens, the strategy will be completed sometime in 2006, along with a new agreement for signature by existing and future cooperators.
