Bald Eagle Nests found on Sequoyah NWR, Oklahoma
Southwest Region, March 1, 2006
Print Friendly Version
There were three active bald eagle nests observed on the refuge in the recent eagle nesting aircraft count.  Currently two of the nests have had hatching success.  The Headquarters pair that moved their nest south away from the nature trail, has at least one eaglet in place.  The Hog Pen pair has two eaglets.  Guided eagle tours on weekends remain popular.  They are a cooperative effort between Tenkiller State Park and the refuge.  Closed areas surrounding the nest trees remain in effect.
