Southwest Region, January 24, 2006
Print Friendly Version

Staff from the New Mexico Ecological Services Field Office coauthored an article on the lesser long-nosed bat for the Winter 2005 issue of the Sonorensis, a publication of the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. The article discussed the animal's biology, importance to the ecosystem, and conservation in Mexico and the United States.  The US Fish and Wildlife Service listed the lesser long-nosed bat as endangered in 1988.  Other coauthors included individuals from the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum; Department of Ecology and Biodiversity, National University of Mexico; University of Arizona; Arizona Game and Fish Department; and an independent researcher.
