Two members of the Arizona Ecological Services Field Office traveled to Sacaton, Arizona to represent professions in natural resource management at the Gila River Indian Career Fair.  Over 800 students and members from the tribal community visited the fair and were treated to the Service's presentation and interpretation of a live desert tortoise and Harris' hawk -- two species native to the tribe's lands.  The Service display elicited much interest in service programs and career opportunities.  Many parents requested and received information regarding the application for eagle feathers for ceremonial purposes.  Contacts were made with other Arizona tribes regarding outreach and education.
