Middle Rio Grande staff attends 50th Annual New Mexico Water Conference - New Mexico Water: Past, Present, and Future of Guns, Lawyers, and Money

On October 18-20, 2005, The Coordinator for the Middle Rio Grande Bosque Initiative (NM Ecological Services Field Office) attended the 50th Annual New Mexico Water Conference, New Mexico Water: Past, Present, and Future of or Guns, Lawyers, and Money event in Las Cruces, New Mexico.  The 2.5-day conference began with a presentation and tour of Elephant Butte Dam and Reservoir.  More than 200 participants attended the 2 days of presentations with topics on agriculture, water operations past and present, New Mexico water policy, water use projections, economic development and land use, water quality, New Mexico water management, interstate water agreements, water markets, and environmental and ecological issues.  The conference also served as a prime opportunity for networking.
