WICHITA MOUNTAINS NWR EMPLOYEES TEACH ECOLOGY COURSE

Claudine Daniel and D’Anna Mallow taught a Grassland Ecology Course on Oct.1 & 2, 2005. Ten students from Southeastern State University Durant, OK and two Student Conservation Association volunteers attended the two day workshop. The course qualified as a senior level Biology credit. The students were instructed in the structure, function, history and preservation of North American prairies. The course concluded with each student reading an essay about their experience in the special use area of the Refuge.
