Staff from San Andres NWR assisted with hurricane relief efforts for both Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita.  Refuge Manager Kevin Cobble assisted with law enforcement and search and rescue efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.   RM Cobble participated in a USFWS team based out of Mandalay NWR in Houma, La. and worked in Saint Bernard parish and New Orleans during the assignment.  Maintenance Worker Coby Bartram assisted on a Type 3 team that was organized by Region 2 of the USFWS to respond to Hurricane Rita and its impacts to refuges on the Texas Gulf Coast.  Coby served at the Facilities Unit leader in the Logistics section of the team and assisted with recovery efforts around Anahuac, McFaddin and Texas Point refuges.
