Arlington Field Office co-hosts Annual Interagency Biologist Meeting

On August 31, 2005, PFW biologists from the Arlington Field Office assisted the Fort Worth Zoo in co-hosting the 4th annual meeting of the ?North Central Texas Bureaucratic Biologists and Other Natural Resource Professionals.? Over 30 natural resource professionals, representing the Natural Resource Conservation Service, Environmental Protection Agency, Corps of Engineers, Farm Service Agency, Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Texas Cooperative Extension, Texas Forest Service, Environmental Defense, Ducks Unlimited, Fort Worth Zoo Conservation Department, Fort Worth Nature Center, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, North Texas Ecotype Project, the Nature Conservancy, and the Texas Wildlife Association, were in attendance. Each of the attendees works directly with north Texas private landowners to accomplish various wildlife habitat improvement activities. Attendees provided a brief overview of their agency/organization's respective programs which are available to assist with fish and wildlife habitat development projects. Areas of common interest and potential partnership opportunities were discussed.
