Camp Bullis Programmatic Biological Opinion Issued
Southwest Region, July 28, 2005
Print Friendly Version
A ten-year programmatic biological opinion was issued to the U.S. Army for the implementation of the Natural Resource Managment Plan for Camp Bullis in Bexar County by the Austin Ecological Services Office on July 28, 2005. The programmatic gives Camp Bullis decisional flexibility to avoid and minimize adverse effects to black-capped vireos, golden-cheeked warblers, and karst invertebrates while planning annual training needs. The programmatic will enable Camp Bullis to make natural resource and training decisions quickly while only having to append any new projects to the programmatic assuming the project falls within the guidelines set forth by the programmatic. This will expedite consultations for the Army for projects expected to have minor adverse effects on listed species at Camp Bullis. Camp Bullis also proposed conservation measures that will benefit listed species including, but not limited to, research, increased monitoring efforts, and habitat improvements.
