R5/R3 Biological Monitoring Team Established
Northeast Region, April 1, 2005
Print Friendly Version
Hal Laskowski, R5 Regional Biologist, helped establish a new Biological Monitoring Team (BMT), co-located at the USGS Mid-Continent Science Center in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. The BMT includes an Information Technology Specialist and 2 senior-level Wildlife Biologists, and is jointly supported by Regions 5 and 3, and the U.S. Geological Survey. The Team will formulate a new, national NWRS monitoring program, stepping down the Strategic Plan for the National Wildlife Refuge System FY 2006?2010, by: 1) facilitating development of refuge inventory and monitoring programs and databases; 2) coordinating adaptive management projects at multi-refuge scales; and 3) helping the Refuge System be an effective partner in achieving conservation goals that extend beyond refuge boundaries. Contact: Joe Dowhan, Chief, Division of Natural Resources.
