KENAI: Shorebird Takes Off!
Alaska Region, May 18, 2005
Print Friendly Version
A Kenai shorebird celebration and workshop was held May 13 and 14. Events included classroom discussions as well as field birding expeditions designed for novice as well as advanced birders. Todd Eskelin, Biological Technician for Kenai Refuge, and John Wenger, retired biologist/naturalist, led the programs, while the non-profit Kenai Watershed Forum helped host the event. Approximately 60 people attended the two day event and by all accounts it was a success. Plans are to expand the event next year to include waterfowl and forest bird workshops as well.
