Status of Maine's Eagles Reviewed
Northeast Region, April 13, 2005
Print Friendly Version
Charles Todd, of Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, reviewed the status of American bald eagles nesting and feeding on national wildlife refuges, state lands and private lands in Maine in a meeting at the Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge on April 13. Refuge managers, biologists, and members of the Quoddy Regional Land Trust and the Maine Coast Heritage Trust discussed the status of the state's eagles and the nesting maps of the state.

The bald eagle has made a dramatic comeback in Maine and on the refuge. The pair nesting on Route 1 was rated as one of the most important public outreach pairs in the state. Six pairs nest at the refuge.
