On April 14, 2005, the Field Supervisor and staff from the New Mexico Ecological Services Field Office attended the 56th annual meeting of the Pecos River Commission in Roswell, New Mexico. The following topics were highlighted: Endangered Species Act (listing and section 7 activities), Fisheries research (the results of monitoring on the Pecos River), Environmental contaminants (a summary of contaminants research at Bitter Lake National Wildlife Refuge (BLNWR)), habitat restoration projects completed at BLNWR, and our participation in the Carlsbad Project Water Operations and Water Supply Conservation EIS process. Representatives from state and federal agencies; irrigation districts; local, state, and national political representatives; and the public attended the meeting.
