Informational kiosks have been built and installed by refuge staff at the main entrances of the Nulhegan Basin Division of the Silvio O. Conte National Fish and Wildlife Refuge. For the first time since the refuge was established in 1999, visitors  in the fall of 2004 are greeted with information about the National Wildlife Refuge System, migratory songbirds, and refuge specific information such as maps. Visitors are also able to take home various brochures pertaining to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the refuge system.

A grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation obtained by the Nulhegan Gateway Association, whose members are currently forming Friends of the Nulhegan, a new support group, made it possible to purchase supplies for one of the two kiosks.

Plans for additional kiosks are underway.
