New Fencing Protects Habitat at Cape May National Wildlife Refuge
Northeast Region, April 1, 2005
Print Friendly Version
A contractor completed installation of about 1,100 feet of guardrail and wooden fencing at Cape May National Wildlife Refuge on April 1. The barriers will exclude illegal all terrain vehicle traffic threatening about 500 acres of wildlife habitat. Fencing was installed at nine locations throughout the refuge.

Funding for the project was provided by a challenge cost share grant. The New Jersey Department of Transportation donated most of the materials, which constituted the matched funds needed to perform the installation.
