Connecticut River Coordinator's Office Participates in Westfield River Symposium

The Connecticut River Coordinator's Office exhibited a display on fish restoration in the Westfield River, tested educational materials on aging salmon, recruited volunteers, and shared information on aquatic nuisance species at the 11th Annual Westfield River Symposium. The event was hosted by the Westfield River Watershed Association at Westfield State College in Westfield, Mass.

The theme of the symposium was "Land+River+People: Balancing The Equation." The keynote speaker was U.S. Rep. John Olver. A highlight of the event was the premier showing of "Five Feet and Rising: The Flood of '55," a documentary on the 1955 flood in the Westfield River basin.

There were 185 participants attending the event.
