Middle Rio Grande Bosque Initiative participates in Rio Grande Day at the Roundhouse, New Mexico
Southwest Region, March 9, 2005
Print Friendly Version
On March 9, 2005, Middle Rio Grande staff participated at the "Rio Grande at the Roundhouse" event. The day-long event, sponsored by the non-profit organization Rio Grande Restoration, was held in the rotunda at the New Mexico State Capitol building in Santa Fe, New Mexico, as the State Legislature was in session. The New Mexico Ecological Services Field Office staff presented an exhibit on the Middle Rio Grande Bosque Initiative and had a live exhibit of Rio Grande silvery minnow. More than 200 students, legislators, State employees, members of the general public, and other event participants visited the Middle Rio Grande exhibit to learn more about the Services activities in the Middle Rio Grande. The Middle Rio Grande exhibit, including the silvery minnow display, was showcased in the Albuquerque Journal with a report of the day's events.
