Arlington Field Office provides assistance on Texas Wild Project
Southwest Region, March 29, 2005
Print Friendly Version
On March 29, 2005, Jacob Lewis and Sean Edwards of the Arlington, Texas Field Office participated in a focus group hosted by the WILD About Texas Project. Also in attendance were representatives from Texas Parks and Wildlife, Audubon Society, Texas Wildlife Association, Fort Worth Nature Center, and Fort Worth Zoo's Texas Wild Exhibit. The purpose of the meeting was to identify wildlife and water-related topics of concern among biological professionals specific to our region of Texas. The six most urgent topics were agreed upon and information was gathered concerning these issues. The resulting information will be developed into a regional packet that will include information about the habitat, wildlife and wildlife management issues facing each region on CD and web formats to help educate the general population, teachers, students, and community organizations about these issues. Also produced will be a CD of additional resources for educators and others seeking to raise public awareness of these topics.
