Fish and Wildlife Service Discusses Endangered Species at the Wildlife Society Chapter Meeting

The New Mexico State Administrator for Ecological Services, representing the Southwest Region of the Fish and Wildlife Service, addressed the joint meeting of the New Mexico and Arizona Wildlife Society Chapters, and Fisheries Society at their annual meeting February 4 and 5, 2005, in Gallup, New Mexico. The topic for the meeting was the Endangered Species Act (ACT). Each section of the ACT was explained and presented along with the current issues associated with each section. Three other speakers addressed the ACT: Bureau of Land Management; State of Arizona; and Southwest Center for Biodiversity.

Two biologists with the New Mexico Ecological Services Field Office are active members of the Wildlife Society and participated in the meetings.
