Refuge Manager Meets With Nature Works Board

Refuge Manager Darrin Unruh was invited to a board meeting of Nature Works to provide information about the Deep Fork NWR public use program, with emphasis on a proposed visitor center.

NatureWorks, Inc., located in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is a nonprofit organization assisting in the development and conservation of wildlife preserves, wildlife habitats, and educational opportunities for adults and children on the values of sharing our homeland with wildlife. Nature Works holds a Wildlife Art Show and Sale annually, featuring many of the finest wildlife painters, sculptors, carvers and photographers from all over the nation.

NatureWorks, Inc. originated and resides exclusively in Tulsa, Oklahoma. There are no paid employees, and all management and activities are provided by volunteers. The Nature Works board is made up of several well-known Tulsa businessmen and conservationists.

The Nature Works board is considering the partial funding of a visitor center for the refuge.
