AK PENINSULA: Outreach & Education Events
Alaska Region, December 2, 2004
Print Friendly Version
Park Ranger Michelle Franulovich represented the Becharof/Alaska Peninsula Refuges by visiting Bristol Bay High School and by presenting the Refuge at the National Association of Interpretation Annual Conference.

The presentation at the National Association of Interpretation (NAI)was a presentation to fellow interpreters & naturalists on how to effectively translate interpretive displays, documents, brochures, etc., into foreign languages.

The presentation at Bristol Bay High School focused on volcanic eruptions and their effect on the land. Her 45 minute presentation compared and contrasted the eruptions of Mount St. Helens (in 1980) and Mt. Katmai/Novarupta and illustrated how eruptions impact their surroundings.

Both presentations allowed for the sharing of information and issues specific to the Becharof and Alaska Peninsula NWR.
