For the last three years, efforts to band wood ducks were successful in obtaining the following results:

A notable difference in this year's results is the lower percentage of young birds. Field observations throughout the summer noted the same trend. Wet and cool conditions throughout the summer may be a factor in the low recruitment.

In recognition of their effort, the Service would like to thank the Missouri Department of Conservation, Elsberry FFA members and other volunteers who helped make the project a success. Nearly 40 Elsberry FFA members volunteered their time, and with the other volunteers, a total of 200 hours of volunteer time had been logged for the season.
