Journal Entry   Back Nueces Bay Oil Spill Workshop Southwest Region, October 21, 2004 Print Friendly Version CCESFO staff gave a presentation at the Nueces Bay Oil Spill Workshop sponsored by the Texas General Land Office. Numerous oil pipelines ranging in diameter from 2 to 36 inches crisscross Nueces Bay with the potential to impact environmentally sensitive areas. The bay is very shallow with few access points so logistics for a response are difficult. The objective of the workshop was to identify issues that need to be included in the response plan and included a terrorist-initiated spill component. Participants included representatives from industry, state and federal agencies, including FBI and law enforcement.
