Journal Entry   Back Friends of Little Pend Oreille NWR bring all Colville Fifth Grade Classes to Refuge Pacific Region, June 3, 2004 Print Friendly Version Friends of Little Pend Oreille National Wildlife Refuge received a grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to develop a migratory bird program for fifth grade students in cooperation with the Colville School District. 160 students participated in the program that included full-day teacher workshop on using the lesson plans and traveling trunk, a school program by the refuge manager, culminating in a full-day refuge field trip where students practiced their bird indentification skills and learned more about refuge bird habitats.
