KENAI: Refuge Welcomes New Facility Manager

Leon Jones, a recently retired civil engineer from the military has reported for duty at the Kenai Refuge as a much needed Facilities Manager responsible for maintenance of $300 million worth of real property including popular trails, roads, cabins, and campgrounds within the 2 million acre Refuge. The position will allow more attention to oil and gas issues by redistributing staff time and also has Regional responsibilities for heavy equipment use and training. Mr. Jones spent 20 years in military service with the Air National Guard, Air Force Reserves, and active duty with the U.S. Army. Most recently he worked as the Base Engineer at the Dugway Proving Grounds in Utah.
