Swedish Students Study Forestry at White River National Wildlife Refuge
Southeast Region, September 28, 2004
Print Friendly Version
Dennis Johansson and Albert Anderson are 18-year-old forestry students from Varnamo, Sweden. They spent a week in September at White River National Wildlife Refuge in St. Charles, Arkansas, and most of their time was spent in the field with refuge foresters and associated staff. The hands-on experience and training allowed them to utilize many of the techniques employed to manipulate refuge habitat for the benefit of wildlife. Upon graduation, Albert and Dennis have accepted jobs in private industry, and they will be operating equipment that harvests and processes timber.
