Journal Entry   Back New Friends Group Established at Rappahannock River Valley Refuge Northeast Region, August 17, 2004 Print Friendly Version A Friends group for the Rappahannock River Valley National Wildlife Refuge was established on August 17 at a Friends Mentoring Workshop held at the refuge. The workshop was led by Tim Armstrong, president of the Friends of the San Luis Valley refuges, and Ron and Peggy Tillier of the Friends of Blackwater Refuge. At the end of the workshop, seven local refuge supporters acted to form a board of directors for the group. The board includes two teachers, a farmer, a realtor, a human resources specialist, an accountant and a retiree.
